I bought this for my daughter (14 years old) who has already made a few moving wooden sculptures. Everything fits together (although I helped as my daughter was a bit fearful of breaking some pieces) and it is very well designed. It took a bit of work to get it all to fit, as it was pretty tight. It took about 40 minutes to finish it. She loved doing it though and was quite intrigued by how the little gears made it all work.

This is a wooden version of one of those perpetual calendars that are often sold as beach souvenirs. You turn the adjustment dial to show the current year and month and the readout shows the entire month with the names of the days correctly aligned with each date. Building it is fairly easy, especially if you are used to making such constructions out of wood or cardboard. It takes about half an hour.

I bought it because I complete a lot of puzzles so delighted, it was easy to put together. I was hoping it would be a little more difficult. For a child it would be perfect. But I love the design, I have it on my desk and at the same time very fun to look at the calendar.

This is an excellent calendar model. It is very quick and easy to assemble (took me 10 minutes or so) and an interesting piece to have on your desk. The calendar covers the years 2017 - 2044, but there is nothing automated/electronic here, it has to be turned manually. But the best part is that you can see the calendar for the whole month.

This day gear accurately displays the day of the week after moving the year gear to align with a particular month. We have tested several dates with online calendars. All are accurate. It has 7 moving gears in total, one is the year gear and six are small gears inside. The wood (or pressed wood board?) is dense enough to allow for accurate and smooth cutting and inscribing. It can be a nice desk toy. I bought it for my 7.5 year old son. He needed the help of an adult. I took a picture with the typical clothes pin included so you can see its size.
